I’m Mary! I’m a registered nurse working in the Intensive Care Unit. Working in the intensive care unit can be a bit stressful to the mind and body. I’m originally based in Vancouver but now working in Australia.
I’ve started running around 6 years ago. And since then, I fell in love with the activity! It helped me find my center again especially during the worst days in the hospital.
Aside from running, I also love travelling and exploring new places. I’ve visited the Philippines, Vietnam and other parts of South East Asia for the most part my stay in Australia. Since I discovered running, it made me enjoy traveling more. I am no longer getting tired that much, plus I can now climb stairs! I used to hate stairs a few years back!
What made me start running?
Running was quite a shocking experience for me, since I was a bit on the unhealthy side when I started. I wasn’t really athletic or into sports when I was younger. Before I started running, I was starting to gain weight, I was a bit depressed and my body isn’t functioning as it is supposed to. Thanks to running, I was able to change the way my body works.
After a couple of months running, I was able to lose some weight and slowly see some progress. I was also introduced to cross training different training methods. These days, running and living a healthy life became a lifestyle.
What to expect from my blog?
I decided to start this blog to help inspire other women to become fit. If there is anything I learned, you don’t have to be athletic in order to start at something. Regardless if you plan to run or you want to bulk up and lift weights in the gym, all you need to do is to have the desire to start. And once you start doing healthy activities, you just have to stick to it.
Gear, dealing with injuries and other running matters
Along the way, I’ve also experienced minor injuries while running. I’ll share some of the things I experienced to my readers to help them avoid these things, or to help them deal with these setbacks. In this blog, I’ll share some of my nutrition and workout tips that could help you achieve your personal goals.
I can also share with you some of the things that I use for my running. I’m a connoisseur when it comes to shoes. I usually run half marathons at least once every month, so I make sure that my gear can keep up with all the wear and tear factors.
I assure you that not all expensive shoes make the best option. For the most part, there is always marketing that you have to consider. I provide honest reviews to my readers every now and then.
I’d love to know what you think of the articles I’m posting. If you have any reactions, questions or suggestions, feel free to drop me a message or a comment!
